Painted Sky Park at Blossom Rock Named “Most Outstanding Facility” at APRA 2025
We’re proud to celebrate Painted Sky Park at Blossom Rock for being recognized as the “Most Outstanding Facility” at the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association (APRA) 2025 Conference. This award highlights not only thoughtful design and community impact but also the collaborative effort behind creating vibrant public spaces that serve Arizona residents for generations.
Spanning 17 acres within the Blossom Rock master-planned community by Brookfield, Painted Sky Park reflects the principles of innovation, accessibility, and sustainability. As the civil engineers behind the Blossom Rock master plan, WOODPATEL played a pivotal role in transforming this vision into reality. From site development to grading and drainage strategies, our team designed safe, functional, and resilient infrastructure ensuring the park could support both current needs and future growth.
The park features:
-
A 17-acre public and private community park designed to serve as a central recreational and social destination within the Blossom Rock master-planned community.
-
Immersive, city-scale playground offering creative and interactive play opportunities for children of all ages.
- Dual-purpose lake spanning over an acre, designed to meet the park’s irrigation needs while providing a recreational fishing experience.
-
5.3-acre Pooch Paradise dog park and community gaming zone promoting outdoor activity and social engagement
Keeping Arizona’s Skies Dark
Painted Sky Park is part of a community that supports the DarkSky International movement, incorporating shielded lighting and sustainable planning to reduce light pollution, protect local wildlife, and preserve Arizona’s stunning night skies. These thoughtful design choices show how civil engineering and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand. 🌌
