The First Place Transition Academy

WOODPATEL is proud to be the Civil Engineer for the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) First Place campus.  This transitional facility for young adults with Autism combines independent living with community interaction and education to provide a unique quality of life.  Situated on approximately 2 acres, the site includes an 80,000 square foot, multi-level building with social gathering space, an outdoor courtyard, and onsite parking. Project challenges include integration into an established Phoenix neighborhood with inadequate utility infrastructure, physical constraints on all sides, and necessary offsite improvements. WOODPATEL was an integral part of the design team, working with the owner and contractor to generate affordable design solutions that provide a quality end product.
