ASU SkySong
WOODPATEL was the lead civil engineer for the SkySong development. The project supports 600 residential units, 1.2 million square feet of research and general office space, 95,000 square feet of office space for the City of Scottsdale, and a 200-unit hotel. In addition, WOODPATEL provided civil engineering design services for infrastructure, mass grading earthwork, drainage, roadway, storm drain plans, and water and sewer plan for various projects. The initial campus development included Buildings 1 and 2, every 143,000 square feet, and a 600-space parking garage. The second development phase included student housing consisting of 325 units in 4-story row-type apartments and one multi-story parking garage. Site Development services for Building 3 supported approximately a 100,000-square-foot building on an 8.5-acre site and a parking lot with 496 parking spaces. In addition, extensive utility coordination has entailed about 4,400 feet of storm drains, 4,900 feet of sanitary sewer lines, and 7,500 feet of domestic water.
