ASU SkySong
The SkySong development encompasses 1.2 million square feet of research and general office space, 600 residential units, 95,000 square feet of office space for the City of Scottsdale, and a 200-unit hotel. WOODPATEL was the lead civil engineer and provided civil engineering design services for infrastructure, mass grading earthwork plans, grading, and drainage plans, roadway plans, storm drain plans, and water and sewer plans for various projects. The initial campus development included Buildings 1 and 2, which are two 143,000-square-foot buildings and a 600-space parking garage. The second phase of development included student housing, which consisted of 325 units in four-story row-type apartments and one multi-story parking garage. WOODPATEL also provided services for Building 3, which is a 100,000-square-foot building on an 8.5-acre site and a parking lot with 496 spaces. In addition, there has been extensive utility coordination with approximately 4,400 feet of storm drains, 4,900 feet of sanitary sewer lines, and 7,500 feet of domestic water lines.
