Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

WOODPATEL is the Civil Engineer for the 38-acre Six Flags Hurricane Harbor waterpark (formally Wet n’ Wild) located within the Adobe Dam Recreation Area. Projects to date include the preliminary and final design of multiple water features and attractions such as the Anaconda water slide (formally Constrictor), Splash water Beach (formally Junior Splash Pool), and Pipeline Slide Attraction. The design program also required adding an administration office building, restroom/shower buildings, pathways and hardscape areas, family gathering places, drainage, sanitary sewer, and water systems to the park with civil design services provided by WOODPATEL. A continually expanding park, multiple new attractions, and upgraded infrastructure have presented a unique set of challenges for WOODPATEL. As a critical consultant role for the developer, WOODPATEL has coordinated numerous design professionals and approvals from various jurisdictions. Stakeholders include Maricopa County Parks and Recreation, the City of Phoenix Development Services, the Flood Control District of Maricopa County, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, and the Maricopa County Health Department. WOODPATEL is also responsible for maintaining and amending the park’s Site Plan and record drawings.
