Civic Space Park

Located in the heart of Phoenix near Arizona State University’s downtown campus, this three-acre park WOODPATEL utilized sustainable design techniques to minimize storm water run-off. Hard surfaces were created with pervious concrete and pavers that reduced heat reflection and allowed rainfall to be introduced back into the soil naturally. Full civil improvement plans, survey, and construction administration services were provided for this project that was awarded “Best Landscape/Urban Design Project” by Southwest Contractors 2009 Best of Awards. It was also awarded “Best Landscape/Urban Design Project” in the United States at the annual McGraw Hill Construction National Best of the Best Awards.
