WOODPATEL is the civil engineer for these free-standing, seven-bed emergency room facilities across the Phoenix metropolitan area. The 7,000-square-foot single-story buildings are typically located on 2 acres of vacant land surrounded by existing retail and commercial development. Site challenges included emergency vehicle routing, accessible patient arrival and departure areas with flush pavement at entrances, underground stormwater storage, and pedestrian linkages from the public right-of-way. WOODPATEL services included land survey, site planning and layout, grading and drainage, water and sewer service, and construction administration. Project challenges included assistance with legal documents, purchase agreements and easements, overall site master planning, and Public Street and sidewalk improvements.
