WOODPATEL provided Civil design services for a 9,600 square foot retail building in Phoenix, Arizona. Construction consisted of the renovation of an existing building that had previously been utilized for swimming pool sales. Civil design includes coordination of the demolition and earthwork relating to the existing pool showcase infrastructure, updating existing water and sewer lines to meet the proposed project needs, and drainage design to bring the existing site to current City of Phoenix standards. In spite of limited design documentation, WOODPATEL was able to coordinate locations and sizes of existing utilities with relative accuracy based on site observation, utility section maps, and preliminary design documentation. Extensive coordination was also completed with the plumbing engineer to ensure that existing water, sewer, and fire sprinkler services met the proposed building requirements.
