The City of Phoenix Water Services and Arts & Culture Departments led the effort to turn an abandoned well site that was an empty, heat-intensive lot into a safer, cooler, recreational use facility in District 7. The community now enjoys new pathways, lighting, landscape architecture, and public art, coupled with clever grading and plants that encourage visitation by the monarch butterfly. The project’s enhancement of this community space fits perfectly into WOODPATEL’s core purpose of Create, Connect, Protect.
