Hyatt Place at Novus

WOODPATEL is the civil engineer and survey team for the first hotel project within the new urban hub, said to be the first wave of development to go up in Arizona State University’s athletic district in the Tempe Novus Innovation Corridor. This unique development opportunity connects the ASU Tempe campus to the shores of Tempe Town Lake. The 250 key hotel and entry drive is directly adjacent to the ASU Wells Fargo Arena at the corner of Sixth Street, and Veterans Way is on a condensed, urban, 1-acre site. The WOODPATEL scope involved grading and drainage, water, sewer, paving plans, and land lease documentation of a Survey Parcel Description and ALTA. Civil Engineering services also included assistance with and submission to JRC review, Novus ARC, the City of Tempe, Private Development, and Arizona State University. Completing the project required coordination with multiple stakeholders and design teams to manage on-site drainage, water and sewer services, and roadway infrastructure design—the Master Retention system installed underneath the neighboring parking garage facility. Additional coordination included a rough grading design to direct the Master Developer during the preliminary Mass Grading activity.
