Wood/Patel Partners with CREST Mentorship Program

Wood/Patel is proud to provide a valuable mentorship opportunity to the Paradise Valley School District’s Center for Research in Engineering, Science, and Technology (CREST) program. CREST is a very unique high school program that provides students with the opportunity to study one of three specialized STEM disciplines: biotechnology, computer science, or engineering. Small class size, academic support, laboratory experience, and collaboration with university and industry professionals provide numerous opportunities for academic and personal growth. Emphasizing dedication and relevance in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, CREST students graduate prepared and fully qualified to pursue STEM-oriented degrees at postsecondary level.

Every year, a maximum of 50 students are accepted into each of the three CREST programs, one of whom is Wood/Patel’s intern Danyon Gedris. Joining our Site Development division in the fall of 2017, Danyon is experiencing the reality of civil engineering’s day-to-day work and responsibilities. Under the mentorship of Darin Moore and Jake Kain, The skills Danyon learns are put to a real-world test each day performing AutoCAD drafting and participation in internal meetings.

Wood/Patel values our role in the CREST program and is committed to being a positive influence on education in our community.
