Mixed-Use High Density

Providing UA students with a safer and more desirable living environment, Wildcat Canyon Village is treated similar to a residence hall; leased and managed by UA’s Residence Life Department. The four-story building is solely utilized for student housing and is conveniently located near the southwest corner of the campus on Park Avenue and 8th Street, a short walk to the UA Student Recreation Center and Park Student Union and numerous classroom buildings.

Renovation improvements for this building included a two-story front entrance expansion that provides space for housing administration services, a foyer, a common area, and a work-out center. Additional improvements included interior refurbishing, site landscaping, sidewalk and parking improvements, particular utility relocations and improvements, site lighting improvements, and bicycle accommodations.

Wood/Patel provided civil engineering services in support of the renovations. This included developing an approach to address the FEMA Floodplain limitations, an alternative to preparing a CLOMR and LOMR that potentially saved the client thousands, all the while keeping the project on schedule.
