WOODPATEL is the Civil Engineer for the 38-acre waterpark located within the Adobe Damn Recreation area in north Phoenix. Six Flags, formerly known as Wet ‘n’ Wild, has become a premiere destination spot in the north valley and they continue to expand and add new attractions as well as upgrade infrastructure. Each project presents a unique set of challenges for WOODPATEL, acting in a key consultant role for the owner and operator. Our services typically involve the coordination of multiple design professionals and approvals from various jurisdictions, including the Phoenix Parks and Recreation, the City of Phoenix Development Services, the Flood Control District of Maricopa County, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and the Maricopa County Health Department. Technical volume displacement calculations for the Flood Control District of Maricopa County (FCDMC) must be performed for each new structure, since the project is located within the Adobe Dam Recreation Area.
Projects completed to date include preliminary and final design of Civil Engineering Improvements of multiple water features, slides, buildings pathways, emergency service vehicle lanes, hardscape areas, drainage, sanitary sewer and water systems. WOODPATEL is also responsible for maintaining and amending the park’s Site Plan and record drawings.
