The Polytechnic Campus is in a continuous transformation from a U.S. Air Force Base to a higher education campus. This 17-acre project was constructed using the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method. Improvement’s included removal of several existing buildings and parking lots for the 3 new 250,000 square-foot (total) academic buildings, sidewalks, and an adjacent roadway in the center of the Campus. The academic buildings house laboratories, university classrooms, faculty offices, a lecture hall, and a fine arts building that includes a black box theater, painting and drawing studios, and gallery space. WOODPATEL plans included demolition, grading and drainage, water and sewer, storm drain retention facilities, and construction staking. Special attention was given to the design of fire lanes and ADA accessible routes throughout the project. This project was LEED Gold Certified by the USGBC.
