LED Streetlight Conversion Program with City of Phoenix

LED Streetlight Conversion Program with City of Phoenix

On Monday Nov. 27th, Wood/Patel, in partnership with the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department and contractor Ameresco, kicked off the citywide program to convert all of its streetlights to LEDs. The City tested LED energy efficient street lights throughout various locations for a number years, which led to adoption of this standard for all public roadways in Phoenix.

Once completed, approximately 100,000 lights will be outfitted with energy-efficient LEDs fixtures, saving the city an estimated $22 million in reduced maintenance and energy costs and reducing light electricity usage by up to 50 percent by 2030. The citywide conversion is projected to be complete by fall 2019. We’re excited to work with our community and provide sustainable, fiscal alternatives.
