Wood/Patel was the lead civil engineer for the SkySong development. The project supports 600 residential units, 1.2 million square-feet of research and general office space, 95,000 square-feet of office space for the City of Scottsdale, and a 200-unit hotel. Wood/Patel provided civil engineering design services for infrastructure, mass grading earthwork plans, grading and drainage plans, roadway plans, storm drain plans, and water and sewer plans for the various projects. The initial campus development included Buildings 1 and 2 which are each 143,000 square-foot and a 600-space parking garage. The second phase of development included student housing which consists of 325 units in 4-story row type apartments and 1 multi-story parking garage. Also provided were services for Building 3, which is approximately a 100,000 square-foot building on an 8.5-acre site and a parking lot with 496 parking spaces. In addition, there has been extensive utility coordination entailed with approximately 4,400 feet of storm drain, 4,900 feet of sanitary sewer lines, and 7,500 feet of domestic water lines.
