St. Mary's / Westside Food Bank Alliance	In 2006, Wood/Patel and its employees provided 185,878 meals to the less fortunate in our community through St. Mary's /Westside Food Bank Alliance. That means we provided one meal to 509 people every day. We are extremely proud of our relationship with St. Mary's Food Bank, the world's first food bank, where 94 cents of every dollar goes directly to feeding those in need. We are even prouder to announce that since our payroll deduction donation program started in April of 1994, we have provided nearly one million meals!

Rebuilding Together	This year, WOOD/PATEL's team of volunteers tackled our fifth Rebuilding Together project in Arizona. We teamed with DMB to provide improvements to the West Valley CAP and Food Bank, in Buckeye, including constructing a new block wall, building an outside storage cover, and lots of painting. Well over 200 volunteers worked on the site on April 28, 2007, and enjoyed a barbeque lunch after the work was done. In addition to the onsite volunteering, WOOD/PATEL hosted the "Souper Office Challenge", an inter office, competitive canned food drive that resulted in the collection of 11,657 cans for the food bank. The winning team, The Minestrones, won the contest by bringing in 1,712 cans.


Company Picnic	WOOD/PATEL's annual Spring Picnic was held March 3, 2007, at Encanto Park in Phoenix. Almost 300 employees and family members attended this old-fashioned themed picnic, which included a pie-eating contest, horse shoes, paddle boats and a catered barbecue.
Wood/Patel in Training	The Wood/Patel-in-Training (WPIT) group of Engineers-in-Training was treated to an offsite field trip where they got to see the construction of some of WOOD/PATEL's projects firsthand. Many of the E.I.T.s had never had the opportunity to visit an active construction site before and were excited for the learning experience. Reata Pass	Approximately 200 WOOD/PATEL employees and guests attended our annual party at Reata Pass in October 2006 and partied “till the cows came home.” This event is to thank our Survey crews for withstanding another long, hot summer. Thanks to everyone who made this event a great success! The 2007 Reata Pass event is scheduled for October 6.

Santa's Helpers	In December 2006, Wood/Patel was proud to participate in Flight 33, Inc.'s Adopt-a-Family Program. Thanks to our generous employees, WOOD/PATEL was able to provide two families (one family has 13 children) with all of the items on their holiday wish lists. Both families were also given gift cards to Food City for their use.


Wellness Fair	WOOD/PATEL's annual Wellness Fair was held in January 2007. Onsite health screenings and chair massages made the event informational and relaxing.
