Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
|
Wood/Patel was proud to recently be part of the team for The Yazzie Family Build on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Project 425): The show aired October 28th at 7:00 pm on ABC Channel 15. Under extreme conditions our survey crew worked day and night to help set the foundation for the unique Yazzie home makeover. The challenge started with the need to survey the stemwall in a warehouse in Mesa to setting the footings at night in frozen ground under bright lights in Pinon, Arizona, to meeting the project deadline condensed into one week. Wood/Patel, along with 75 other sub consultants, combined American ingenuity and teamwork to make it happen. Click here to view some images of the work. |

| Rebuilding Together |
On April 5, 2008, DMB and Wood/Patel worked together on a Rebuilding togther event to benefit A & A Cottages. A & A Cottages opened their doors in July of 1996 to teenage girls in foster care. Over the years, due to a lack of doanations and resources, the houses fell into disrepair. This is where DMB and Wood/Patel stepped in and chose A & A Cottages as the beneficiary of the Rebuilding Together Event.
In addition to the onsite volunteering, Wood/Patel hosted the "Souper Office Challenge", an inter office, competitive canned food drive that resulted in the collection of 11,657 cans for the food bank. The winning team, The Minestrones, won the contest by bringing in 1,712 cans.

| Wood/Patel in Training |
The Wood/Patel-in-Training (WPIT) group of Engineers-in-Training was treated to an offsite field trip where they got to see the construction of some of Wood/Patel's projects firsthand. Many of the E.I.T.s had never had the opportunity to visit an active construction site before and were excited for the learning experience. | Reata Pass |
Approximately 150 Wood/Patel employees and guests attended our annual party at Reata Pass in October 2008 and partied “till the cows came home.” This annual event is held to thank our Survey and Construction Management crews for withstanding Arizona’s long, hot summers.
